Anna Summers, MPH, PhD
Anna Summer received her MPH from Emory University. While there, she conducted her research on barriers to obstetric care for indigenous Quechua women in the Peruvian Andes. After receiving her MPH, she traveled extensively internationally with CARE International and the Salvation Army World Service Office to backstop health programs in Africa and Latin America. She then lived in Kampala, Uganda for over two years where she worked as the Health Technical Advisor for Medical Teams
International’s maternal/child health projects in Uganda, Somalia, Kenya, South Sudan, and Liberia. Anna received a doctorate in public health at the University of California Berkeley. She now lives in Portland Oregon, where she is the Project Manager for the Scientific Resource Center that provides support to Evidence-based Practice Centers across the US to carry out rigorous research to improve health practices. She continues to stay engaged in global health work through her consulting business.
