 Richard Wootton, PhD

Richard Wootton is a founder member of the Collegium Telemedicus organisation, which provides telemedicine networks for use in low-resource settings. He previously spent 20 years as a fulltime researcher in telemedicine, at universities in Australia and Europe. He has published over 300 articles in peer-reviewed journals, of which about two-thirds relate to telemedicine and telehealth. He was the founding Editor of the Journal of Telemedicine and Telecare, an international peer-reviewed journal. In order to document best practice around the world, he established a series of multi-author textbooks on telemedicine, published by Royal Society of Medicine Press.
